Minnesota Vikings have not confirmed signings of Carson Wentz or Kyler Murray

A report claimed the Minnesota Vikings signed quarterback Kyler Murray to a one-year contract last week and Carson Wentz to a one-year deal on Thursday. These claims could not be verified through official channels.
The Vikings' official roster lists quarterbacks Sam Darnold, J.J. McCarthy, Nick Mullens and Jaren Hall as of December 2024.[1][2]
Kyler Murray remains the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, under a five-year, $230.5 million contract extension signed in July 2022 that runs through the 2028 season.[3][4]
Carson Wentz, 32, last played in the NFL in 2023, appearing in three games for the Los Angeles Rams. He completed 62.7 percent of his passes for 163 yards, one touchdown and one interception.[5]
J.J. McCarthy was selected by the Vikings in the first round (10th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Michigan. He missed his entire rookie season after sustaining a torn meniscus in preseason, leading to season-ending surgery.[6][7]
McCarthy has been on injured reserve since August 2024. The Vikings hold the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft order as of mid-December 2024, amid a competitive NFC North campaign.[2][8]
